Ski Binding
Did you know that the Rottefella ski binding was invented in 1927 by a Norwegian mechanical engineer named Bror With? In the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, Rottefella bindings were on the skis of 12 gold, 12 silver, and 13 bronze medal winners -- 37 out of 48 possible medals.

Cheese Slicer
Did you know that in 1925 a carpenter in Lillehammer, Thor Bjørklund, found it difficult to slice cheese with a regular knife, so he invented a cheese slicer? Since then this cheese slicer is an iconic symbol of Norwegian invention, quality and design.
Outboard Motor
Did you know that Ole Evinrude is known for inventing the first outboard motor in 1905? The idea came to him rowing across a lake to visit his girlfriend. To make the trips easier, he developed an “automatic rowing machine,” a two-cycle engine for the rear of his rowboat.
