Reidar Larsen & Arne Skage, Jr. Saturday & Sunday on Main Stage (2:15 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.)
Reidar Larsen’s 2009 album "Kom in te oss" (Come Join Us) recently won a Spellemann for best blues album - Norway’s equivalent of a Grammy Award.
Long recognized as one of the finest Blues acts in Scandinavia, Reidar Larsen & The Storytellers, his regular band since 1997, are in big demand and play over 100 gigs a year.
Larsen and Arne Skage, Jr. (guitarist with The Storytellers) will come together for a special duo performance both days at the 2010 Norway Day Festival.
Back in Norway, Larsen -- a blues pianist, vocalist and songwriter, with a musical career going back to the mid-1970s -- has long been known as ‘Mr. Blues.’ With a voice and style that defy his Nordic roots - more New Orleans than Norway – Larsen has recorded 12 albums (with 3 Gold awards).
